![]() ![]() ![]() I've always felt that most big orders always required a face-to-face with the customer, at least initially. (A lot of those would never get picked up and ended up getting trashed after a few rounds of phone tag, but still.) ![]() And I did get quite a few on-line orders for just a few pages. I don't get the whole phobia about small charges on a credit card, but we weren't requiring pre-payment anyway. I mean, "technically" they're "supposed" to go to Self Serve for those small orders.īut since that would seldom happen without a whole lot of nudging, begging, and hand-holding then there was no reason they couldn't use the website. And customers often called in with or brought in pages filled with codes. But what's worse was we weren't even allowed to add a surcharge for the extra labor we had to perform each time we pulled up PrintMe codes. The problem with PrintMe was that we went from a system that was inefficient and dangerous with direct e-mail, to one which was merely inefficient with PrintMe. (Fortunately, I got out before pushing the Staples app became the thing.) And besides, my goal was to get at least somebody to use the same way they would order from any other retailer and not fall back on e-mail. The same way operates, so I never found any reason to push the PrintMe app. I'd imagine the app would still require a customer who wanted to send files from a website or from their e-mail to download them first to storage and then navigate to and select them. I've always wondered what we (and Depot, and anyone else that used EFI's PrintMe) was paying EFI to offer the service. Reposting a previously removed thread/comment may result in a ban.
